The Restaurant in Hotel Flatey is located in Samkomuhús. The house was built in 1890 and was renovated in 2007 when the restaurant opened its doors.

The restaurant is open from 
8:00 am – 9:00 pm

Breakfast is served from 
8:00 am – 10:00 pm
Lunch is served between 
12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Dinner from 
6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
The restaurant is furthermore open during the day for coffee, cakes and drinks
We recommend booking a table for the evening by contacting us via email or phone.

The restaurant at Hotel Flatey is located in the historic Community Hall (Samkomuhúsið), originally built in 1890. The building was carefully restored by Minjavernd and reopened as a restaurant in 2007.

The restaurant is open on weekends:

  • Friday: 09:00 – 21:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 – 21:00
  • Sunday: 09:00 – 21:00


We offer:

  • Breakfast from 09:00 – 11:00
  • Lunch from 12:00 – 15:00
  • Dinner from 18:00 – 21:00


The restaurant is also open during the day for coffee, cakes, and drinks for both hotel guests and visitors.

Hotel guests are not required to reserve a table, although we recommend that outside visitors make a reservation for dinner at Hotel Flatey.

The restaurant is closed on weekdays.
